Description
The Job
To ensure that all aspects of the process engineering design requirements are delivered to company to meet the quality, safety, cost and schedule objectives of the project and engineering support during the procurement, fabrication and installation phases.
Primary Duties
A team player with detailed experience in working in a multi-discipline team in an EPC environment
Ability to deliver the process design aspects of a project in the context of influencing and managing engineering consultants or EPC contractors
A detailed knowledge of the requirements of FEED and Detail Design in the context of the sequence and methodology of delivering high quality process engineering deliverables
A man-manager with demonstrated abilities to motivate a team and also work synergistically with peer groups, management both internally and externally from the company.
A detail knowledge of the international standards used in the Oil and gas business and the application of same in an EPC environment
Detail experience to include:-
Heat and Material Balances
PFD/UFD Development
P and ID development intelligent P&ID’s
HAZOP/HAZID processes
Oil treatment process equipment technology including 3-phase separation, electrostatic dehydrators, cyclone separation technology, desalters, produced water and seawater treatment technology for injection and disposal.
Gas treatment process equipment including TEG/MEG based dehydration technology or molecular sieve dehydration technology, CO2 removal technology, associated and gas lift compression system design
Detail experience of the Value Engineering processes in use in the industry to optimize cost versus benefit
Detail experience of working with Quality and HSSE groups in a matrix environment to ensure process conformance to the QHSSE objectives
Detailed understanding of project planning and scheduling techniques, cost control and the interfaces to be managed
The People
At least 15 years experience with an Oil and gas consultant or EPC contractor or oil and gas company focusing on offshore projects. At least 5 years should have been spent leading a team of process engineers in an EPC environment delivering the process design of offshore projects. Consideration will be given to candidates who have the total experience in the oil and gas business but not necessarily only on offshore projects.
Educated to degree standard with Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical engineering. Preferably having professional engineering status or membership of a recognized professional body.
