We are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for our Project in Iraq ; the role discription is as follows:
1. Scope of Responsibilities:
Monitor subcontractors’ measurements, rates and payment applications, Quantities take off and site measurement. Assist in formulation and estimation of variations and related cost estimates and maintain technical and cost records.
2. Primary Duties:
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities /MTO from drawings and specifications.
• Maintain records and track BOQ Measurements (Bill of Quantities) / MTO (Made to Order) according to the approved drawings.
• Assist in verifying subcontractors’ interim and final payment applications in coordination with the site discipline engineer; present them for the further approval of the construction manager.
• Maintain technical records of the site progress meetings, issues related to drawings, direct labor hire/supply of plant, free issue materials and changes in scope of work and any other specifications.
• Keep track of third party services on day-to-day basis. Verify and approve third party invoices, liaise with them and check if the services are back chargeable to the sub-contractors.
• Maintain record of the free issue materials, manpower and equipment, sourced by Petrofac when the sub-contractor is unable to directly source the same.
• Maintain accurate records and data to enable the construction manager to resolve contractual conflicts and disputed claims with sub-contractors.
• Provide inputs for preparing cost budget based on issues related to drawings, direct labour/plant hire on regular basis and submit them to construction management.
• Implementation and adherence to HSE and Quality System procedures and plans. Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
• Carry out other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
3. Job/Cost Impact:
Responsible for providing all information required by the Contracts department to analyses contract variations. Consults with supervisor on key issues.
4. Decision Making Authority:
Key decisions affecting cost/project impact reviewed by supervisor.
5. Supervisory Responsibility:
N/A
6. Work Contacts:
Frequent internal and external contacts including proposal team, discipline engineers, planning engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
7. Physical Effort and Work Environment:
Job requires relocating to the project sites till the completion of the Project. In certain postings, duties are performed in an office. Working on the PC would involve good deal of total time.
8. Minimum Requirement:
Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical/ Electrical) with minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience or Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical with minimum 12 years’ experience in Oil and Gas related petrochemical industry.
