Main accountabilities:
  • Maintain the flow of data between Partners and Petronas.
  • Provide support to the well placement decision making process.
  • Ensure all well specific data is prepared, filed and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure quality control and analyse all geological data, including geophysical, sedimentological, petrological and incorporate these data into integrated interpretations.
  • Conduct structural interpretation by interfacing with project geophysicist.
  • Evaluate hydrocarbon potential and generate prospects in exploration block. 
  • Identify geological setting of the reservoir rock and construct geological model.
  • Perform sedimentologic and / or other geologic studies and integrate results into multi-disciplinary field reservoir descriptions and liaise with other engineering disciplines.
  • Recommend new geological studies and support all aspects of development activities.
Primary Duties
  • To steer and encourage staff to find innovative ideas and solutions to allow aggressive pursuit of exploration, appraisal, and development opportunities and actively drive conversion of prospect, lead, and discovered hydrocarbon volumes into proven reserves.
  • Recommends to management development/appraisal/exploration objectives in pursuit of adding resource base within the acreage and recommends all necessary resources (manpower, geoscience tools & service agreements) are in place to achieve the development/appraisal/exploration objectives.
  • Prepare and update an inventory of exploration, appraisal and development scope.
  • Responsible for the technical quality of all Kuala Lumpur based exploration to development geological interpretations, geological modelling, and operational geology throughout the PM-304 asset, you will be expected to develop value added data acquisition plan to improve reservoir understanding and manage the subsurface risk.
  • Plan and co-ordinate development and near field exploration geological-geophysical studies within the Asset. This may include semi-regional data analyses as it applies to near and in-field drilling opportunities.
  • Plan and co-ordinate geological modelling over the PM-304 asset, including liaison with other geoscience disciplines and reservoir engineers to ensure consistency of data and knowledge.
  • Ensure technical quality control over geological output; maintain technical standards, monitor, recommend and apply best practices.
  • Ensure a comprehensive geoscience understanding is passed to reservoir engineering and ensure input, approaches and assumptions used in dynamic models and reservoir engineering database are consistent.
  • Participate in cross-asset Peer and Technical Reviews as required.
  • Contribute as required to Asset Documentation.
  • Strictly adhere to Corporate and Departmental HSE policies & guidelines.
  • Provide technical endorsement for geoscience related HSE critical activities.
  • Mentoring & developing young Malaysian staff will be an integral part of job
Key skills, knowledge and experience required:
  • Degree in Geology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant practical experience.
  • Sound knowledge of petrophysics and strong interpretation skills of wire line logs.
  • Sound knowledge of RMS/Petrel, Geoframe or other G & G software.
  • Be self-motivated to accomplish world-class results.
  • Have a sufficiently broad experience base to be able to exercise independent thought and decision making.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Have a strong written and verbal command of English.

1. Scope of Responsibilities

Responsible for proper upkeep of all documents pertaining to internal and external correspondences of the project with departments, clients and the vendors including all technical, non technical, vendor, construction and preparation of final project dossiers. Archive on both paper and electronic copies of formal transmittal sent to or RECEIVED from clients and vendors.

2. Primary Duties

  Establish and coordinate schedule for creating databases for tracking all technical and non-technical documents and provide status update on a regular basis.
 Establish and maintain document distribution matrices, transmittal and correspondence REGISTERS for all Project-related documentation
 Ensure that the technical drawings received from various discipline engineers are accurately updated in the Technical Document REGISTER reflecting details of the documents to be submitted to the client.
 Prepare transmittals as per client’s requirements, Assign transmittals to each document and sequentially file all incoming and outgoing transmittals.
 Distribute internally the copy of the transmittals and the project quality plan to Petrofac OFFICES and site (if deemed fit) according to the distribution matrix assigned.
 Receive reviewed documents from the client, make respective log entries, assign the approval codes for the commented drawings in TDR (Technical Document REGISTER) and transmit approvals internally as per the project distribution matrix.
 Interface with the vendor and obtain the necessary descriptions to be provided in the Vendor Document REGISTER.
 Maintain file for the PURCHASE ORDERS from the vendor on receipt of the vendor documents along with the reference of the transmittals distribute to the respective engineers and quality engineers for review.
 Revise all documents and the allotted transmittal numbers for each stage of the vendor drawings. Ensure the vendor documents are duly filled and sent to reflect the latest updates.
 Assist the planning engineer in preparing the progress of the document reports. Log all incoming correspondences like faxes, emails and reference numbers.
 Assign transmittals for all specific instructions received from the client.
 Generate exception reports on documents pending for clients’ review and distribute to the discipline engineers for appropriate action.
 Sequentially file all the incoming documents and enclosures from the client according to the transmittal number.
 Liaise with vendors and expedite for timely submission of all documents as mentioned in the VDR.
 Send requested vendor documents to the client for review and ensure all comments received from client are communicated timely to the vendor.
 Receive vendor documents from the quality control engineers and duly stamp the approval status.
 Obtain vendors’ recommendations for spare parts for the next three years operation and maintain a record of the interchangeable parts. Follow up with the vendors to submit the same. Distribute this spare part interchange ability record to the concerned discipline and to the client for approval.
 Maintain records of shipping notifications and follow up with the vendor to submit the final document of the PURCHASE ORDER.
 Ensure that all documents are meticulously RECEIVED and archived both as hard copies and electronic copies in accordance with the project / client requirement.
 Ensure effective management of the day-to-day operations of the document center. On completion of the CONTRACT prepare the project dossier reflecting all compiled documents.

Effective document controlling leads to the availability of the required information to projects team for a timely project execution. The smooth transfer of information and the proper follow up on documentation contribute to an accurate planning of engineering activities.

Scope of Responsibilities
Lead, direct and supervise a team of discipline Engineers in carrying out Completion and Handover of plants, assuming entire responsibility for the implementation of Completion and Handover of plants in conformance with the client’s needs and HSE standards. 

Primary Duties
- Carry out a detailed assessment of the work involved in the individual group as well as discipline with respect to the completion of system/work packs and assesses the available resources and possible constraints in the execution of the same. Mobilize manpower as per the schedule. Coordinate with other departments/ agencies to resolve interface problems.
- Support the Completion and Handover engineers in the completion and handover activities including providing technical guidance as and when required.
- Oversee and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures for the same.
- Coordinate with the commissioning Engineers and ensure understanding of elaborate commissioning plans including the scope of commissioning activities, duration for each, scope of interlinked activities, resources available, constraints regarding the same, as well as availability of tools and machinery as well as understanding of the preparation of commissioning schedules based on the quantum of job and duration for each activity as well as prioritise system requirements.
- Provide guidance to the Completion and handover engineers in analysing the scope as per contract and battery limit /guarantees as well as ensure the preparation of procedures for systematic and sequential pre commissioning/commissioning/startup of plant.
- Carry out detailed analysis of plant completion and handover requirements, assessing the requirements of special tools /temporary  facilities/equipment  required  for  pre  commissioning  and  commissioning,  prepare Equipment/Tools list and initiate procurement recommendation .
- Supervise Construction, logistics administration, field engineering, material approvals, coordination with Client, planning, Progress monitoring & cost control.
- Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the completion and handover process in line with the commissioning schedule.
- Hold regular review meetings with the client on issues such as HSE conformance and completion and handover progress as well as meetings with the vendors to resolve any equipment related problems.
- Provide technical as well as manpower support to client during initial operation as applicable.
- Hand over the plant to client in line with the commissioning schedules and client requirements.
- Review reports generated by Commissioning Engineers and provide support and technical guidance as and when required.
- Carry out any other duties as and when required by the direct supervisor.

Job/Cost Impact
Coordinates all activities for the successful completion and handover of the project within project schedules and contractual requirements. Oversees all coordination between Petrofac and client, vendors, Engineering, sub-contractors and any other external or internal agency to ensure the smooth Commissioning of the process plant.

Decision Making Authority
Decisions limited to the scope of the completion and handover of the project. Consults with supervisor on key decisions, which affect the project scope.
