Manager - Civil & Structural-014188 Scope of Responsibilities - Supervise the discipline engineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering work for projects.
- Accountable for leading projects, coordination between engineering disciplines, participating in project planning activities, supporting cost and schedule updates, proposal development, mentoring junior engineers and designers. Technical responsibilities include creating and checking engineering calculations and checking design drawings and verifying that applicable codes and engineering standards are satisfied.
- Conduct peer reviews and assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering recommendations.
Primary Duties - Review contract requirements for project execution, review the Technical Document Register (TDR), identify requirements and scope of work; review specifications, Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings. Establish contract review criteria, identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the technical queries.
- Support in identifying work scope requirements for civil works; evaluate schedules in liaison with the discipline lead. Review and direct the lead in technical guidance for critical structures and foundations for the most optimum solution.
- Managing Client expectation by complete awareness of Scope of Work, specification and standards.
- Leading Contract Review, Constructability review, Model reviews and Risk Review.
- Development of Job Notes, Start-up Pack, Quantity and man-hours management system,
- Develop Manpower Mobilisation and de-mobilisation charts, monitoring mobilisation of suitable and adequate manpower. Liaison with HOD and provide timely feedback on required manpower to meet the schedule. Recommend cost effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs.
- Regular review of project status and critical issues with ECS lead.
- Providing input for different execution plans and Service level Agreements (SLA).
- Review of Planning and ensuring that TDR is made considering all interfaces and input requirement.
- Review of TBE of major items like Steel, Shelters, Anchor Bolts etc. and ensuring timely ordering of materials,
- Identify work scope requirements for civil works; evaluate schedules in liaison with the discipline lead. Review and direct the lead in technical guidance for critical structures and foundations for the most optimum solution.
- Review critical items like Piperack, Underground, machine foundation etc design basis. Ensuring implementation of value engineering standards.
- Interact with Quality Assurance for quality issues; strictly ensure compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures. Coordinate Internal and Client audit requests; facilitate audit procedures of engineering systems within the department.
- Managing expectation of Key stakeholder like Project and Client and incorporating their feedback.
- Ensuring implementation of change control mechanism. Ensuring that changes are approved before implementation.
- Plays the leading role in technological and design improvement for the department in consultation with technical specialists in the group.
- Ensuring regular reporting of status of the project in form of Fortnightly report.
- Directs the employee performance evaluations, establish performance criteria, identify employee strengths and weaknesses, and recommend training and development requirements.
- Work with Project, Customers and vendors to resolve technical issue.
- Assist in promoting innovation, departmental improvement and team working.
- Perform other related duties as advised by the supervisor.
Minimum Job Requirement Must have a full time Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 22 years of experience in Oil and gas industry of which he should have spent at least 8 years in similar capacity in similar organization having proven track record of technical and managerial skills.
