Position Overview
Manage, co-ordinate and lead multi-discipline engineering teams in carrying out all Engineering activities for proposals, feasibility studies, concept studies, FEED’s and Projects. Coordinate between multi-functional teams and serve as the bridge between engineering, procurement, construction, completions and project management teams. Position requires continuous control and monitoring of technical issues, quality, budget, cost and schedule, progress and resource manning, management reporting and taking positive actions on daily basis. Should have a sound background in engineering and multi-discipline management and coordination and be highly skilled in performing general engineering management functions and implementing management initiatives to enhance the technical and quality performance of the work - while utilising in-depth knowledge and experience of best-in-class standards and processes.
Specific Responsibilities
• Develop engineering scopes of work , CTR’s planning and scheduling of multi discipline engineering for proposals, feasibility and concept studies, FEED’s , basic engineering and detailed engineering services.
• Coordinate and develop engineering project technical documentation.
• Ensure adequate resourcing for work as per the budget and schedules for the work.
• Monitor engineering progress, address shortfalls, develop recovery plans and ensure plans are implemented.
• Ensure that engineering deliverables generated by engineering team meet contract and project requirements.
• Develop and implement engineering plan, quality and assurance plans.
• Check and validate design man-hours, equipment lists and materials quantification developed by engineering.
• Coordinate requisitioning process, bid evaluations and vendor review processes.
• Implement the Management of Change processes and perform value engineering across proposals, studies and projects.
• Interface and coordinate with internal and external clients and assist.
• Evaluate team performance and communicate with team members on areas of excellence as well as areas of improvement.
Preferred Education/Experience
• Engineering Degree with a minimum of 20 years experience out of which 10 years in inter-discipline co-ordination as Lead Engineer, engineering manager, senior project engineer or project manager.
• OR/ Engineering Degree with a minimum of 15 years experience in Design and Project Engineering.
• He/she should be fully familiar with engineering processes of different disciplines and sequencing of work flow.

Technical
• Budget, Contract & Cost Control: Works with clear focus on allotted man-hours and schedules. Interacts with Project manager and Contracts manager on any engineering issues involving contractual requirements.
• Project Execution Strategy: Interfaces/ coordinates/ mediates between various engineering disciplines and departments such as Procurement and construction, and monitors/ tracks progress. Sets attainable goals with clients, managers and project team members, identifies potential roadblocks and takes corrective action to ensure those goals are achieved on time and in budget.
• Project Execution: Manages/ coordinates multiple engineering activities with reference to the sequence of Commissioning and the related requirements, and performs material handling/ constructability reviews.
• Client Management: As Petrofac’s (PIL) representative with clients, suppliers, partners, local authorities and third party contractors is able to negotiate terms and conditions related to engineering work, ensure company interests are assured, and maintain good relations with all concerned.
• Risk Management: Able to analyze exposure to risk and quantify potential for losses. Experienced in applying diverse strategies for managing the risks taken through composition and implementation of contingency plans.
• Quality Control: Promotes quality awareness throughout the project and PIL, ensures that all project QC manuals/procedures are effectively implemented, and develops and implements a QC monitoring system.
• HSE Awareness: Ensures effective use of the organizational/ project specific HSE policies and procedures. Establishes and promotes an HSE culture, leads by example, and demonstrates commitment by facilitating appropriate HSE training for entire project staff.
• Project Closeout: Oversees project closeout, ensures that all lessons learned are well documented and circulated within PIL.
• People Management: Effectively monitors/ administers KPI’s.

· Review Safety and QA/QC project plans with respective functional heads and submit to client for approval.
· Resolve any contractual/legal matters and ensures that appropriate action is taken which does not compromise nor expose Petrofac to unnecessary risk.
· Monitor the demobilization plans of the workforce and plant as the project progresses in order to facilitate the relocation of the workforce and the further utilisation or disposal of plant.
· Act as the Company’s official representative with clients, suppliers, partners and third party contractors - negotiating terms and conditions where necessary, ensuring that Company interests are both optimised and protected.
· Monitor performance of suppliers and subcontractors to determine compliance with contractual obligations. Resolve issues arising from disputes or sub-standard performance.
